It guarantees all the functions relating to population, such as keeping and updating the resident and non-resident population register, issuing certificates, authentications, identity documents, passports, changes of address, etc. It also provides for statistical fulfilments relating to population, provided for by law (monthly and annual surveys, censuses).

You can apply for the following certificates issued on stamped or unstamped paper, in accordance with the certificate’s uses:

  • certificate of residence
  • certificate of family status
  • certificate of citizenship
  • birth certificate
  • contextual certificate (certificato contestuale)
  • certificate of unmarried status
  • certificate of life
  • historical certificates

In addition, you can also apply for the following papers:

  • Identity Card
  • passport
  • authentications on substitute statements of attested affidavit
  • authentication of signatures
  • authentication of copies
  • authentication of signatures on registered movables sales
  • authentication of photographs

as well as for the following procedures for the update of your address:

  • registration to the Register Office after moving from another municipality
  • change of address within the municipality
  • registration to the Register Office for foreign citizens
  • renewal of foreigners’ usual residence
